Story of a Steak


“Responsible Beef: The Story of a Steak” began Feb. 25 spotlighting beef cattle professionals who represent key roles in the health and profitability of cattle, along the various stages of development.

“Often we see each segment of the beef industry separately, but this series puts every segment together telling the whole story of a steak,” said Holly Martin, editor of High Plains Journal. “This is an exciting partnership that shares details of cattle production in the High Plains and how producers can use some of the same practices to increase the value and profitability of the beef they produce on their own operations.”

But the story is about more than just a group of cattle. Instead, she said, “It also highlights the relationships that are so important to a strong beef industry.”

Those relationships help improve the sharing of information so that all segments will be able to improve the ultimate product for the consumer, Martin said.

The program will feature print elements in High Plains Journal and Midwest Ag Journal, as well as an online component at Television segments are also running during The Angus Report on RFDTV.
