New Faces Spotlight: Dave Bergmeier

010 edit copyDave Bergmeier has joined the High Plains Journal as the Managing Editor.  He began his duties in April.

Dave is a proud Kansas native, growing up in Northwest Kansas.  He graduated from Kansas State University with degrees in agricultural journalism and agricultural economics.

Dave worked at the Abilene Reflector-Chronicle for over 20 years as the managing editor and publisher before coming to the Journal.  He covered the full spectrum of small town news during this time.  He’s also had the chance to speak with some notable figures including: Ronald Reagan, Gerald Ford, George H.W. Bush, Barry Sanders and Lynn Dickey.

He also spent time with the Winfield Daily Courier and the Norton Daily Telegram earlier in his career.

“The staff does its work very well and each staffer is polished and professional.  I hope I can add to that and continue to make the product shine and make it better for the consumer and help out the editorial team” Dave said.  “The Journal is well thought of.  You can’t go anywhere and not hear about the Journal.  It’s an honor to be a part of this great publication.”
